Tomorrow is the 35th reunion at URJ Greene Family Camp celebrating 35 years of AMAZING summers! I am on my way there at this moment and I could not be more excited!!! I spent 10 GLORIOUS summers of my life there and don’t have a bad memory to speak of today! As a Jew in a small town, having the ability to go to a Jewish camp helped to shape my Jewish identity. I don’t know where I would be today without it! I am firm believer in summer camps of all kinds! Some of my best and longest-lasting friendships were made on the grounds of GFC.

Much of camp has been remodeled since the last time I visited, and I am very excited to see the changes! I know there is an addition of a new sports complex, ropes course obstacles, and a blog and jet ski for the lake! (These things were DEFINITELY not there when I was a kid!!)

I essentially have had the best birthday week ever. In no fewer words, the past week has been amazing! It started off with an AMAZING birthday celebration. My friends and I headed to a Mexican restaurant (of course!) called Lupita for a delicious cena! My wonderful friends here are amazing and got me an Argentina flag and everyone signed it. This included them taking the time to draw a Texas flag and a UT Longhorn on it. Apparently, they had a few practice rounds to make sure they drew Bevo correctly!

We then headed out to an amazingly fun club! I did not get home until the next morning. The fiestas here last forever!

I then spent the next week with family friends that came in town. This included a trip to a place called Iguazu Falls which was absolutely incredible! I have never seen waterfalls like this. Not to mention the jungle and butterflies that came along with it. We took a boat ride to view the falls from the bottom and even went underneath some of them and got soaked. The next day we rode four-wheelers to a zip line (3 lines, 800 meters long in total) and then to do a wet repel down the side of a very small waterfall in the jungle. We then headed up to the top of the largest fall called La Garaganta del Diablo, or The Devil’s Throat.

The views were all incredible, and the amount of spray created by the falls produced more rainbows than I could ever hope to see at once. Other than that, we could relax by the pool, walk around by the falls and just enjoy this small piece of paradise! The only thing it was missing was a monkey or toucan sighting. I wanted to see a monkey!

Tomorrow I head back to work and begin my last two weeks in Buenos Aires. I am already sad to leave and to be watching my friends leave. Then I have a week in Brazil and then back to states to find a j-o-b and attend weddings of family and friends. It is amazing how quickly real life will start again when I get home.
